Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

New Adoration chapel

In 2008 Father Larry Villone of the Missionaries of the Blessed Sacrament came to St. Peter's as the guest speaker for our Lenten Mission.  He spoke graciously about the importance of perpetual adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, of the effects having Adoration available anytime has on parishioners.  Needless to say he lit a spark in the parishioners of St. Peter's.  It was not long after he left that the planning began for a new Adoration Chapel.  With the most geneorous help, monetary and man power of many parishioners the new Chapel was up and ready to go.

On May 25th, 2008, the Solemnity of the Most Blessed Body and Blood of Christ, Most Reverend Bp Richard Gagnon came to St. Peter's and gave the official blessing to our New Adoration Chapel.

It was decided that rather than jump headlong into perpetual adoration we would expand our current adoration of the last seven years from 40 hours a week to five days a week.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at St. Peter's begins every Monday morning at 7am and continues 24 hours a day, ending with Benediction at 6:50pm on Friday evening.

All are welcome to come and spend time with the Lord.  Should you wish to become a regular adorer, committing one hour a week to sit with the Lord please contact Marie Downes.
