holy orders

The man who is ordained receives a gift from the Holy Spirit that gives him a sacred authority that is conferred upon him by Christ through the Bishop. Being a priest does not mean just assuming an office or a ministry. Through Holy Orders a priest receives as a gift a power and mission for his brothers and sisters (YouCat 249; CCC, 1538).

If you feel our Lord is calling you to the priesthood, do not be afraid to approach your parish priest to talk about the call you feel in your heart.

There are also discernment weekends that take place at various times and places throughout the year.  Contact the parish office for more information.
